Dr. Mills is a general dentist who graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Following graduation, Dr. Mills was a dentist in the NAVY for four and a half years with tours in Norfolk, VA, Parris Island, SC and Guam. Dr. Mills post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. She has also completed certification in Invisalign for straightening teeth without braces.
Dr. Mills is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. Dr. Mills was the program coordinator for the Roanoke Valley Dental Society from 2007-2008. Drs. Mills and Shannon have been married since 1998 and have two sons. When they moved to Salem, they were associate dentists for about two years. They began their own private practice following the retirement of Drs. Ison and Harris in January of 2008. |

Dr. Shannon is a general dentist who graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Following graduation, Dr. Shannon was a dentist in the NAVY for four and a half years with tours in Norfolk, VA, Parris Island, SC, and Guam. Dr. Shannon's post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. He also completed an additional ten-month apprenticeship with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dr. Shannon is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club, and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. Drs. Mills and Shannon have been married since 1998 and have two sons. When they moved to Salem, they were associate dentists for about two years. | Caitlin graduated from Virginia Western Community College in Spring of 2016. She joined our team in September 2016. We enjoy Caitlin's kind and outgoing personality and she truly works from her heart. She enjoys getting to know all of her patients and helping them improve their oral health. In her free time, she loves going to Virginia Tech games and spending time with her family. |

| Brittany joined our practice in Aug 2022. She comes to us with 20 years of experience. She is a wealth of knowledge. Brittany is an exceptional hygienist who strives to provide gentle, thorough visits. She is excellent at recommending over the counter products for patients too. She has had experience in general dentistry, public health and periodontal offices. Both dentists worked with Brittany many years ago and they are so happy to have her join our team here. Brittany loves to laugh, has an amazing personality and enjoys her patients each day. |

| Allison is our new full time hygienist. We are so fortunate to have her join our team. Allison comes to us with 22 years of experience! She was a beloved hygienist for a prominent Salem dentist who recently retired. Allison has worked with our practice for over a year on Fridays. We have received amazing feedback from our patients and many have requested to see her! She is excellent with both children and adults. Allison is known for her very friendly nature and meticulous skills. |

| Amanda joined our team in Feb 2022. She comes to us from a very similar position in a podiatry office! She was an incredibly fast learner as she faced a mountain of new dental terminology and procedures. Amanda greets each of our patients with a smile, has a strong work ethic and a drive for perfection. She makes an exceptional teammate and administrative liasion for our patients! |

| Debbie joined our team in 2018 as the insurance coordinator. She comes to us with 27 years of experience in medical billing and insurance knowledge from Carilion. Debbie is a true asset to our office. She is here to explain treatment and insurance coverage to our patients. Debbie has an outstanding work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive outlook. When she isn't working, she enjoys her children, the outdoors, and collecting squirrels! |

| Ciara joined our practice in April of 2019. She knew since the age of 8 she wanted to be in dentistry and in 2016 she took her first job as a hygiene assistant later advancing to chairside assistant. In her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her friends and family. She is a ray of sunshine that brightens each day for those around her. |

| Michelle is Dr. Mills' primary assistant and joined our team in 2018. She comes to us from Ohio where she completed a strenuous dental assistant program. Michelle is a avid pet lover and has 3 cats. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends. She is truly a gifted dental assistant and we are incredibly fortunate to have her on our staff. |

| Nicole joined our practice in Jan 2022. Nicole comes to us with 12 years of dental assistant experience. She is Dr. Shannon’s primary chairside assistant. They make an amazing team! Nicole is known for her calm personality that helps patients feel relaxed. Once you get to know her, you’ll realize she has a quick wit and she will make you laugh! Nicole is a dream teammate too, helping everyone when she can. Her positivity is infectious. We are so glad she chose our office. |

| Katelyn joined our practice in Oct 2022. She is a wonderful Mom to two beautiful boys and a newlywed! She immediately made a positive impact in our office! Katelyn comes to us with both dental assisting and administrative skills. She makes every day run smoothly, and keeps our dentists organized. Katelyn is our veterans care coordinator also. That is a big job requiring a lot of focus and dedication. Every day, Katelyn comes with a bright shining smile. She is the kind of person that makes everyone around her happy.
