Dr. Michele M. Mills Dr. Mills is a general dentist who graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Following graduation, Dr. Mills was a dentist in the NAVY for four and a half years with tours in Norfolk, VA, Parris Island, SC and Guam. Dr. Mills’ post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. She has also completed certification in Invisalign for straightening teeth without braces.
Dr. Mills is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. Dr. Mills was the program coordinator for the Roanoke Valley Dental Society from 2007-2008.
Drs. Mills and Shannon have been married since 1998 and have two sons. When they moved to Salem, they were associate dentists for about two years. They began their own private practice following the retirement of Drs. Ison and Harris in January of 2008.

Dr. Travis M. Shannon Dr. Shannon is a general dentist who graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Following graduation, Dr. Shannon was a dentist in the NAVY for four and a half years with tours in Norfolk, VA, Parris Island, SC and Guam. Dr. Shannon’s post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. He also completed an additional ten month apprenticeship with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dr. Shannon is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society.

Debbie: Chairside Assistant Debbie began assisting in 1978. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the office. Her caring chairside demeanor puts anxious adults and children at ease! Debbie is also our OSHA and Infection Control Coordinator and ensures that we exceed the CDC’s recommendations. Debbie grew up in Roanoke and Vinton. She has a husband, 3 children, and a granddaughter that keep her busy! Debbie’s love for dentistry, great work ethic, and positive attitude make her a role model for all. Our patients are in good hands with her! |
Connie: Chairside Assistant Connie joined our team in June 2011. She is a highly motivated person with a very strong work ethic who enjoys getting to know her patients. Connie comes to us with 13 years experience as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. When she’s not at work, Connie enjoys spending time with her two children, Samantha and Ryan. We love having Connie as part of our team! |
Becky: Registered Dental Hygienist Becky graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 1977. Becky oversees our Butler Gum program making sure we have the best home care products available to our patients. She loves research, hiking, gardening, and collecting. Becky lives in Salem with her husband Bill and her cute dog Bonnie. She also has a son, William, who is a Virginia Tech graduate. Becky’s love of research keeps our hygiene department cutting edge. We are fortunate to have such a well-educated, compassionate and gentle hygienist! |
Caitlin - Registered Dental Hygienist Caitlin graduated from Virginia Western Community College in Spring of 2016. She joined our team in September 2016, Caitlin came to us after a couple of months of temping as a hygienist right after college. We enjoy Caitlin's kind and outgoing personality and she truly works from her heart. She enjoys getting to know all of her patients and helping them improve their oral health. In her free time, she loves being with her family, boyfriend Alex, and her two dogs Booboo and Bella. |
Brooke H. - Chairside dental assistant
Brooke joined our team in 2014 as our lead scheduling coordinator and recently moved to the back assisting in August 2015. Brooke is very compassionate, sincere and hard-working lady. She is dedicated to making our patients experience positive. She comes to us with a management background and degrees in both medical assisting and phlebotomy. Brooke is originally from Ohio and now lives in Roanoke with her fiancee and daughter, Taliah. We are so proud to have Brooke on our team! |
Sarah - Insurance Coordinator Sarah joined our team in July 2016. She has previous experience as an Insurance Coordinator in a dentistry office in West Virginia. Sarah attended Marshall University and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She is such an asset to our office and is here to explain treatment and insurance coverage to our patients. Her outgoing personality and willingness to help are outstanding. She enjoys traveling, camping, spending time with her boyfriend Ben the twins Gabby & Jayden and her Great Dane Calla. |
Nicole - Registered Dental Hygienist Nicole joined our team full time in February 2017. She started her career as a dental assistant and quickly realized that her passion was dental hygiene. Nicole graduated from Virginia Western with honors in 2016. Our patients love Nicole’s meticulous and gentle approach. In her free time, Nicole volunteers for the Remote Area Medical Clinic. She also enjoys hammock camping, fishing, kayaking, and biking with close friends. |
Lizzie - Hygiene Coordinator Elizabeth joined our team in February 2017. She graduated from Berry College in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Elizabeth is in charge of the hygiene schedule and works to keep all our patients up-to-date on cleanings. When she isn’t working, she enjoys playing the violin, hiking, and spending time with her boyfriend Tommy and their two cats, Max and Finlay. |
Taylor - Lead Scheduling Coordinator Taylor joined our team in June of 2017 as lead scheduling coordinator. Prior to entering the dental field she practiced emergency medicine. She became certified her senior year of high school in 2012 and practiced and studied throughout college. Taylor and her boyfriend just bought their first house together in Salem and live with their two cats. Outside of work Taylor is dedicated to fitness and is training for her first competition in May 2018. Taylor is an extremely hard working and compassionate person. She greets each patient with a smile and she is always ready to help. Our team and our patients are very fortunate to have Taylor leading us at the front office. |
