Dr. Mills is a general dentist who graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Following graduation, Dr. Mills was a dentist in the NAVY for four and a half years with tours in Norfolk, VA, Parris Island, SC and Guam. Dr. Mills’ post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. She has also completed certification in Invisalign for straightening teeth without braces.

Dr. Mills is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. Dr. Mills was the program coordinator for the Roanoke Valley Dental Society from 2007-2008.

Drs. Mills and Shannon have been married since 1998 and have two sons. When they moved to Salem, they were associate dentists for about two years. They began their own private practice following the retirement of Drs. Ison and Harris in January of 2008.

Dr. Shannon’s post-doctorate training was in all areas of general dentistry. He also completed an additional ten month apprenticeship with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Dr. Shannon is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, Big Lick Study Club and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society.

Drs. Mills and Shannon have been married since 1998 and have two sons. When they moved to Salem, they were associate dentists for about two years. They began their own private practice following the retirement of Drs. Ison and Harris in January of 2008.

Debbie began assisting in 1978. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the office. Her caring chairside demeanor puts anxious adults and children at ease! Debbie is also our OSHA and Infection Control Coordinator and ensures that we exceed the CDC’s recommendations. Debbie grew up in Roanoke and Vinton. She has a husband, 3 children, and a granddaughter that keep her busy! Debbie’s love for dentistry, great work ethic, and positive attitude make her a role model for all. Our patients are in good hands with her!

Connie joined our team in June 2011. She is a highly motivated person with a very strong work ethic who enjoys getting to know her patients. Connie comes to us with 13 years experience as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. When she’s not at work, Connie enjoys spending time with her husband, Larry, and two children, Samantha and Ryan. We are happy to have her on our team!

Becky graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 1977. Becky oversees our Butler Gum program making sure we have the best home care products available to our patients. She loves research, hiking, gardening, and collecting. Becky lives in Salem with her husband Bill and her cute dog Bonnie. She also has a son, William, who is a Virginia Tech graduate. Becky’s love of research keeps our hygiene department cutting edge. We are fortunate to have such a well-educated, compassionate and gentle hygienist!

Brooke graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 2009. Brooke is very dedicated to dental hygiene. She spent one year at the Roanoke City Health Department where she worked with children in the dental clinic. She has also volunteered at the Mission of Mercy Project. Brooke is very thorough, gentle, and friendly. Our patients love Brooke! Brooke was born and raised in Salem and resides here with her husband Stephen and son Carter.

Teri attended JMU and graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 2003. She joined our team in January 2008. She is a gentle and meticulous hygienist who enjoys continuing education. Teri began her career as a dental assistant making her very knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry. She is a true asset to our team! She enjoys staying active with Roanoke Valley Crossfit and keeping up with her very busy kids. Teri lives in Roanoke with her husband Aaron, son Lincoln and daughter Reese.

Jordan joined our team in January 2013 as our newest hygienist! She graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 2011 and also has a certification in the administration of local anesthesia. Jordan worked in Norfolk for a couple years before returning to Roanoke. Both Jordan and her husband, Wesley, were born and raised in Roanoke. Jordan is a very friendly and talented clinician. She has a true passion for dentistry and enjoys getting to know each of her patients. We look forward to having her on our team and we know our patients will love her!

Lauren joined our team in February 2010. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. After two years as our scheduling coordinator, Lauren is now our office and financial manager! She helps our patients understand and maximize their insurance benefits and coordinates the financial aspects of treatment. Her professionalism, optimism and attention to detail are unparalleled. Lauren’s smiling face will greet you when you arrive at our office.

Darlene joined our team in June 2012. She has a wide variety of experience in the medical and dental fields. She studied at Virginia Western Community College and Skyline College. She has experience as a Chairside Dental Assistant, treatment plan coordinator, and hygiene assistant. Darlene is also a certified phlebotomist. She is eager, enthusiastic, and a very hard worker. Darlene welcomes all the patients when they arrive. She schedules your treatment needs and ensures that you are comfortable in our office. We are very fortunate to have her on our team!

Michelle was trained by the American Red Cross in 2004 at the Great Lakes Naval Recruiting Center. She has recently relocated to Roanoke from Boston. She has had an interesting career working in both private practice and hospital settings. Michelle helps our new patients with their initial radiographs and treatment plan. Michelle’s compassionate nature, patience and love of dentistry makes her a great addition to our team. In her free time, she enjoys physical fitness, reading, volunteering and spending time with her daughter, Danielle.
